OUTREACH MINISTRY
The goals and objectives for our Outreach Ministry is to broaden our vision to look beyond ourselves and focus on others around us. This ministry's objective is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well as addressing other needs of people beyond the boundaries of the church. Jesus told his disciples to visit the sick, to feed the hungry, to go out into the edges and highways and compel people to come to Him and to make disciples of all nations. We accomplish this in several ways. We engage in "Street Services" where we bring church to the community. Additionally, we collaborate with other organizations to complete community cleanup as well as our "Feed the Hungry" events coupled with free clothing giveaways. The heartbeat of outreach is simply starting with what's in your hand and extending it to your neighbor. Jeremiah 31:3 "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."
MEN'S MINISTRY
The goal of AFGHT Men's Ministry is to prepare and equip men to be both natural and spiritual leaders. Through preparation, this ministry will encourage our men to provide leadership which will enable them to make a positive impact in mentorship through Christ-centered relationships and discipleship. This ministry promotes service beginning at home and expanding to our neighborhoods and communities. Accomplishing this goal will be done via monthly meetings, fellowship outings and other forms of communications with the purpose of encouraging men to be the "Men of GOD" they are called to be. Psalm 133:1 "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity."
WOMEN'S MINISTRY
The Women's Ministry at AFGHT is a vibrant and growing community of women focused on being virtuous and Godly women. The women ministry is multifaceted with numerous ways of involvement. Activities range from outings, luncheons and health and personal care with the primary focus of prayer and unity. A sub-committee of the women's ministry is the Young Ladies of Grace started by First Lady LaShunda Carr. In a time where many homes are divided and children are left without adequate guidance, First Lady Carr takes time to nourish and teach young women in the ways of the Bible. Proverbs 31:10 "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."
